Antimicrobial resistance is a growing public health threat that refers to the ability of microorganisms to resist the effects of antimicrobial agents. Antimicrobial resistance can render previously effective treatments ineffective, increasing the morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs associated with infectious diseases.
